“I have always had a deep passion for social justice and inclusion and it’s so rewarding that I work in a role that affords me the opportunity to make a difference and help create a better world for people with disability.”

My vast experience in the disability sector, which includes working as a disability support worker and coordinator and residential team leader, has taught me about the importance of establishing a clear line of communication, so the participant always feels comfortable asking any questions and is fully aware of the process of moving into their new home.

For me, I’ve always viewed housing as a basic human right for all, and I love that Enliven Housing can provide modern, affordable housing to people with disability, that promotes independence, autonomy, and self-determination.

Career highlight:

A career highlight for me was when I was working with a particular participant and their family and I remember witnessing the joy wash over the participant’s wife’s face when she saw the new SDA apartment for the first time and knowing how it was going to positively impact her husband’s life.

Outside of work:

I like to spend my free time swimming, reading, following pop culture, listening to Taylor Swift and hanging out with my cats.

What super-power would you want?

My super-power would be to fly. How amazing would it be to have the freedom to travel around the world.

Credentials:

  • Bachelor of International Development
  • Certificate IV in Disability
