Enliven Housing is proud to introduce Enliven Residences – a new selection of SDA houses and villas.
Since 2019, we’ve provided premium Specialised Disability Accommodation (SDA) with a focus on apartments designed for individual living. Now, we’re expanding our service with Enliven Residences – giving Australians with disability more ways to live independently with both individual and shared living options.
What Makes Enliven Residences Different
Our home and living model sets us apart from other SDA providers. We focus on how our homes and villas support choice and control, personal autonomy, safety and long-term tenancy. This approach is guided by our commitment to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disability Article 19, which supports your right to live the way you choose.
That means you decide:
- Where you live – we have lots of different housing options and locations for you to chose from
- How you live – you design the model of support that meets your needs
- Who you live with – If your funding is for shared support, we’ll work with you to find the right person to live with. The choice of who you share you home with is always yours.
How we do this
Choice and Control Over Shared Supports
Shared supports are shaped by you and your housemates, not decided for you. You can request changes on how your shared support are delivered at any time.
All shared support decisions are made through Enliven Community’s Choice Collective. A Choice Collective brings together people who share onsite disability support. Housemates and neighbours can meet, review their support and even select a new Shared Onsite Support Provider (SOSP) if they’re not happy.
Amplifying Your Voice
We help you express your preferences, concerns and goals by ensuring you have accessible information, support to participate and opportunities to speak up.
Enliven Residences will continue the Enliven Speak Up! platform, which has created a safe and secure space for tenants to voice any concerns, opinions and ideas. Enliven Speak Up! is a secure online platform where you can report a concern to get support or to have something fixed. Anything you share is encrypted and kept private with the option to use your name or stay anonymous.
“No Decision About Us, Without Us”
You’re involved in every decision that affects your home or shared support arrangements. Nothing is decided without your input, agreement or consultation.
Supporting Your Transition
We help you plan your move step‑by‑step. We can support you with transition planning, linking you with providers and helping you understand SDA, tenancy and service options.
Sharing a Property With Another Person
You’re central to the decision about who you live with. Our policy ensures clear vacancy management processes with transparent respectful communication throughout. We also make sure you’re matched based on preferences and compatibility and not just support ratios.
Tenancy Management and Working With Your Support Providers
Your Tenancy Manager supports you with your tenancy rights and responsibilities, problem‑solving and day-to-day tenancy needs.
Your Tenancy Manager works alongside your Independent Support Workers and Shared Support Providers. They’ll make sure there are no gaps or overlaps in supports or communication and that everyone understands their role so you get a smooth, coordinated experience.
Support Models
We’re looking at new ways of presenting SIL shared support options – we are working with support providers to encourage them to provide all of our tenants with “radical transparency” – you know who is supporting you, how your money is being spent and exactly what you are getting for each service you have purchased – nothing hidden, nothing decided with out you.
Every home is designed with the same care you’ve come to expect from us: premium features, thoughtful details and smart Assistive Technology. Most importantly, our tenants remain at the centre of every decision we make.
More Choice in SDA Housing
As always, Enliven Residences will include houses and villa’s across the SDA funding categories of:

Changing What Shared SDA Living Looks Like
At Enliven, shared living means a home without compromise, more privacy and genuine choice and control. We believe shared living should feel like a home, not a facility.
That’s why we work with leading architects and builders to design warm, welcoming spaces that balance privacy, safety and connection. You can enjoy shared areas while still having your own space and control over how you live.
For many years, traditional group homes became more institutional than homely. They often reduced choice and limited opportunities for independence.
We’re changing that.
Enliven Residences is part of a more modern and positive future for shared disability housing — one built on choice, control and genuine autonomy.
How we choose our SDA homes
Enliven Residences is the result of thoughtful design and careful planning. We have a Specialist Development Team that put a lot of care into where we build and what we build.
Location
We choose places people genuinely want to live - close to shops, parks, health services and local amenities. A good location supports independence and makes everyday life easier.

Transport
Easy access to public transport can reduce your reliance on support funding and help you get around more independently.
Architects
We work with architects who specialise in SDA and deeply understand the Design Standard. They help us design homes that feel good to live in - balancing privacy with shared spaces that encourage connection and choice.

Builders
We partner with experienced builders known for quality, durability and strong accessibility knowledge. This means reliable homes built to last, giving tenants and families peace of mind.
