Frequently asked questions
What is Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)?
SDA is purpose-built, accessible housing funded through the NDIS for people with high support needs. It covers the home itself, the bricks and mortar, not the support delivered inside it.
Am I eligible for SDA?
Eligibility depends on your disability, your support needs and your current living situation, and SDA needs to be a funded support in your NDIS plan. Not sure where you stand? Enliven partners with an independent team who can assess your situation, free of charge. If SDA is not yet in your plan, we can point you to the next steps, including our Funded Appeals Program.
What is the difference between SDA and SIL?
SDA funding covers the property. SIL (Supported Independent Living) funding pays for the people who support your daily living. They are separate NDIS supports. Enliven provides the housing only, so you keep full choice over who supports you.
