“As a Transition Coordinator, I work closely with applicants and implement realistic support plans to ensure they can safely move into their new home and start a new exciting chapter in their life.”
My connection to the welfare sector is personal, as it began with my own experience of accessing support. After recovering from an illness in my teens, I felt motivated to enter the workforce and build my skills through volunteering and education. That path led to my first role, where I was encouraged to draw on my own experiences of navigating the healthcare system while providing practical support to others who needed guidance.
Over the past 13 years, I have worked across a range of areas within the sector, supporting both youth and adults in employment and training, Supported Independent Living (SIL) and other NDIS supports.
One of my earliest career highlights was in my role in the welfare sector. I was fortunate to work at Headspace as a peer worker, where I helped implement a peer-work framework and demonstrate that lived experience can be as valuable as, and complementary to clinical intervention.
Outside of work, if I’m not home relaxing with a movie or video game, I would generally be taking my dog for walks on weekends, travelling and taking in the sights or shopping. I’m also a bit of a foodie and try to visit venues that pop-up on my TikTok feed!
If I could have superpowers, I would combine spider-man’s abilities with wolverines. Who wouldn’t want to web-sling from buildings, have incredible reflexes, climb walls and have super healing abilities?
